Have to be thankful that the perp is light-skinned. It is nice to not see some failure of a mother, whining that her son was always a nice boy, and that his victim had no business shooting him! Meanwhile, I doubt that all four or six cops -- hard to tell how many in the grainy video -- showed up at the same moment, so it might have been helpful to at least get the first two to pair up and get in there earlier, sort of like now many schools have a policy that the cop on campus goes right in after a shooter, rather than wait forever for lots of backup to arrive. I understand that the cops all want to go home alive at the end of their shifts, but dispatch said there was one perp (could be bad info, true), so if the six-minute arrival time was for all four or six or however many, then maybe fewer could have gone in a couple of minutes earlier. This is another example of why we need to be armed to protect ourselves. Without her gun, the bad guy would have been having his way with her for several minutes before the cops could have been of help.

I remember growing up in window rock and non natives would often wear their traditional dress on traditional dress up day. Every parent dressed their child. Navajos, Zuni, Hopi, White mtn, Pueblo, Irish, Uzbekistan, Saudi, Aleutian. And nobody at the school said this is only for natives, the school being open about it made every child realize there are different backgrounds and to accept everyone despite how we we're all different. I didn't experience racism and exclusion until I lived near farmington and finished high school in the area. Farmington area is just not accepting of anyone not like them, they are stubborn in a lot of ways.

When I see the other people pulling over I'm thinking that he might have flashed the lights but not the siren. And I can only gather the parents were already in the intersection and it was too late. It was all on the police officer to slow up or go around them. He did neither.
